Hello TCTC'ers! Quick update on two new programs we are hosting at Fleet Feet this month. Strength Training Clinic at 7:00 PM on February 20 (a Tuesday night) – This clinic will be the latest in our monthly seminar series, and will address how strength training can complement and enhance the run/walk experience. Presenter is Richard Smiley of Smiley Fitness by Design. General comments followed by Q&A. Running 101 - This program has been designed for the beginning or novice walker or runner. Running 101 is a 10-week program, coached by certified fitness trainer Kurt Carlan, and will prepare participants to walk or run their first 5K – in this case the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Throughout the program, we will have weekly, coached training sessions (Saturdays), as well as group clinics and support for individual questions. Based on the success we had with our ½ Marathon Program last Fall, I think this 5K program will be a huge success as it presents a very achievable goal for even more people.
