* Location: Law School Auditorium, Worrell Professional Center, Wake Forest University
* Doors Open at 6:30PM, Presentation at 7:00PM.

David Rozelle is an old friend and Davidson classmate of Keith's. You may have seen his story during last year's presentation of the Ironman World Championships. On June 21, 2003, David was leading a convoy in Iraq, when his vehicle struck a landmine, resulting in the loss of his right foot. After spending eight months recovering, David was redeployed to Iraq, becoming the first troop commander to return to the battlefield as an amputee in recent military history.

Not only has this incident not slowed him down, David has returned to athletic competition in everything from ski races to the Hawaii Ironman. In addition to his athletic exploits and his role as a spokesman for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), he is currently assigned to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., as the Administrator for the Amputee Care Center and as a mentor for the severely injured. Largely through David's efforts, "Operation Rebound" was established through CAF to provide post-rehabilitation support and mentoring to American soldiers and veterans who have suffered permanent physical injuries as a result of the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a true American hero that has taken a challenging set of personal experiences and used them to create hope and countless opportunities for others.

We asked David if he would be willing to come to Winston-Salem to tell his story to you, and in return we committed to raising more funds for his very important mission. He agreed, and in addition to his commitment to inspire us on Friday night, he will also be on hand Saturday July 14th at the 4th Annual Kid's for Kid's Triathlon at Wake Forest University to hand out finisher awards to each participant.

In lieu of an admission charge for this event, contributions to Operation Rebound and the Challenged Athlete's Foundation will be accepted. This presentation is open to the public.
