Hi,

I have had several conversations with Tim Grant the director of Parks and Recreation in regards to having full year access to restrooms and water at unstaffed green ways and trails. He is at least considering trying this at Shaffner. If you haven't been there it is a soft trail about 1.136 miles but the loops are such that it is not too boring. I discovered it due to The Lake being closed on Thursdays.

It isn't just about us. We will run any where, any time, without thought to amenities. Many of us also have access to work place fitness centers or can join the Y etc. Shaffner, in particular, has the greatest mix of age, sex, race and level of fitness. Everyone needs their 30+ minutes a day but we do not all have equal access or gumption.

Please consider emailing Mr. Grant and letting him know you appreciate his looking into this matter. It could really make a difference in the health of many.
