I'm planning to run the Richmond Marathon this year on November 12. Anyone else going to run this one? |

| I am considering running Richmond as my fall marathon. I have heard great things. However, I am also considering running Huntsville WV. That race is the same weekend but on saturday (which I prefer). Have you run Richmond before? |

I'll have to look at the Huntsville WV race. One of my criteria for this fall's marathon is that the race be somewhat close-by. Have any details you can share about it? I have never run Richmond before, but I get good comments about it whenever I mention it to people who have. |

Hi Patrick, I ran Richmond last year, and liked it. It's not too challenging, with what they call "rolling hills" (I would also call it that). But, with training here in W-S, you will have no problems. It's well organized. The best part is a downhill finish. Good luck! Karin |

I've done Richmond 3 times and I love it. It is one of my favorites. They have music at almost every mile mark and lots of fans to cheer you on. The scenery is great and the run is very well organized. I haven't made my fall marathon schedule yet, but I would not rule it out. Have you done the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon near Chattanooga? It is the same weekend and I have always wanted to check it out. Al Burchett |

Al Burchett[/quote] I haven't done the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon. I did read about it on http://marathonguide.com though. Sounds pretty and scenic! I may venture down there sometime and check it out. |

| Hey Pete. I am going to run Richmond and would be glad to run a couple of long runs with you. My email is thomasabufordatyahoodotcom (sorry for the spelling it out, spammers are everywhere). Shoot me an email and let me know (i) how far your long runs are at present; and (ii) what day you usually run your long runs. Look forward to meeting you, Thomas |
