12th Annual Hospice Hope Run
10K Race and 5K Fitness Walk

Saturday April 11th, 2009
10K Race and 5K Fitness Walk start at 8:30 am.
Pre-registration packet pick-up on Friday, April 10th, 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m. Omega Sports, Silas Creek Crossing.
Race day registration and packet pick-up starts at 7:00 am and ends at 8:15 am.
Location
Winston-Salem, NC. The race will start at Ernie Shore Field, 401 Deacon Blvd. From Business I-40 take the Cherry Street exit, north to Deacon Blvd (just past the Coliseum), and west on Deacon Blvd.

Entry Fee Includes
Custom designed T-shirt, post-race refreshments, awards, random door prize drawings, complete mailed results, and race management by the Twin City Track Club. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 800 individuals registered.

10K Run Course
USATF Certified NC-97013-PH course starts and finishes at Ernie Shore Field. Mildly rolling course. Splits every mile and digital clock at finish. Traffic will be monitored.

5K Walkers
The 5K Fitness Walk is not a competition, and it promises to be great fun. Have your friends and family join you and help raise awareness of Hospice. Special door prizes and awards will be presented to Fitness Walk participants.
Proud in the Crowd
Be a part of the fun without the walk or run. If you are unable to walk, run or join us on race day, you can still participate through "Proud in the Crowd." Register as a "Proud in the Crowd" participant and receive the entire Hospice Hope Run packet and benefits.
Water & Refreshments
Splits at every mile and water stations throughout and at finish. Snacks, fresh fruit, bagels, doughnuts, bottled water, sports and soft drinks.
Awards
Overall: To top three male and top three female finishers.
Age Groups, Male: 19 & Under, 3; 20-24, 3; 25-29, 3; 30-34, 3; 35-39, 3; 40-44, 3; 45-49, 3; 50-59, 3; 60 & over, 3.

Awards Ceremony
The awards presentation and door prize drawings held immediately following the run and walk. Awards will not be mailed. You must be present to receive a door prize. Special door prizes for pre-registered runners.
Pledges/Donations-Earn a Hat
Go the extra mile for Hospice! Participants are encouraged to raise money for hospice care. As a non-profit organization, Hospice is committed to providing quality medical, emotional, spiritual, and social support to patients and their families regardless of diagnosis, prognosis, treatment or ability to pay. Simply collect pledges/donations from family, friends, and co-workers. Individuals who collect $50 or more will receive an embroidered Hospice Hope Run hat. Pick up a pledge form at Hospice or area running stores. Ribbon/mile marker donations excluded.
Run/Walk in Honor or in Memory of Someone Special
Go the extra mile to show your support for Hospice by participating in one of the following:
Wear a Ribbon
With an additional $5 donation you will be provided with a ribbon to wear in honor of someone special. In addition, your honoree's name will be placed on a name card you can wear during the event.
Sponsor a Mile Marker
With an additional $25 donation your honoree's name will be placed on a mile marker along the course. You will also receive a ribbon and name card you an wear. Pre-registration is required to sponsor a mile marker.
