 $5K - 2021 Race Series

The 2021 Race Series is is a go!

Series scoring is derived from the results for all seven $5K races in the year. Points are awarded based on overall and age group placement.  Awards are presented at the end of the season based upon cumulative points for the entire series.

The $5K is designed as a low-key race for the athletes who want to run a tune-up race to prepare for their targeted event, the novice who may be intimidated by the larger events and runners/walkers who want an event to test themselves without breaking the bank.

What you get:

  • A 5k course that is accurate and well-marked
  • Aid stations on the course and finish area that have water and Gatorade
  • Mile Markers
  • Clock at the finish line
  • Accurate finishing times available at the event and uploaded to TCTC online results nearly real-time
  • Support for all levels of runners or walkers

What you don’t get:

  • T-Shirts – don’t you have a closetful already?
  • Food at the finish area, unless a local establishment wants to provide something – any takers?
  • Verbal splits, unless we have a plethora of volunteers
  • Medals or trophies – we may have gift certificates that are awarded based on varying criteria

COVID Safety Precautions

Due to the continuing pandemic, the following safety measures will be in place and strictly enforced to ensure athlete and volunteer safety.

  • RACE CAP of 150 runners. Sign up early to ensure your spot in the race!
  • MASKS - athletes MUST wear masks prior to crossing the start line and immediately upon crossing the finish line and breathing returning to normal.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING - Athletes MUST maintain 6 feet of separation from other runners and/or volunteers whenever possible.
  • WAVES - we will have two waves of 75 athletes each. Waves may be adjusted up or down depending on number of athletes registered at the time of the race.  Wave 2 will start 5 minutes after Wave 1.
  • Failure of an athlete to wear a mask and/or maintain social distancing requirements could result in disqualification.
